The Haps at Casa de Patterson
Couple of things worth mentioning during this update.
About a month ago we rescued another dog. I know I know, ever since we lost Boaz we've been saying that we didn't want another dog. And we didn't. I'm still not sure that we do! But in typical fashion for us, this new dog landed in our laps and jumped into our hearts and now we have a new family member. Someone had dumped her (along with a Pug) at my work. I re-homed the Pug immediately and had all intentions of re-homing the Pom as well. Except when it came time to actually give her away we physically couldn't do it. Chris and I discussed it and now Jubilee is Jazzmines dog. Complete with personalized dog tag (containing bling) and everything. She's a small bundle of fluff, a joy to be around, sweet and cuddly and more cat-like than dog. We adore her. Look in the section of Jazzy's photos from her camera for some great pictures.
In other big news, we celebrated Grandma's 90th birthday last month. Last weekend we all went out to Dante's Down the Hatch in Buckhead to celebrate. We had a wonderful time with great food, the jazz band dedicated special songs to my Grandmother and allowed her to come downstairs so that we could all dance with her. Dante himself even came to our table and spoke with us. I'm so thankful that my Mom was able to come down for this special occasion (and wish Kevin had been able to be here as well). It was so nice to have so many members of the family together to celebrate such a special event.
We are all resting today after recovering from a nasty stomach virus that took all three of us out this week. Luckily we're more the upper chest infection kind of crowd and this type of illness rarely strikes our family. I came down with it Tuesday night, Jazzy had it by Thursday afternoon and Chris by Thursday night. We are all starting to feel more human at this point and I hope that my frenzy of wiping every surface of the house with Clorox yesterday will help keep us from getting this again.
We've got lots coming up in the next few weeks and months so stay tuned!
