Easing Back In

Trying to ease our way back into a more structured schedule this week. Chris was out of town for several days last week and while we still had very practical lessons happening (learning to paint a room is a great life skill!) we certainly slacked off on the actual reading, writing and math portion of school.

This week Jazz will be finishing up Little Ship Under Full Sail for her reading. She gives me a 3 point synopsis at the end of each chapter, answers a few questions (I read the books first, so I know what happens) and at the end we will work together on a book report.

Chris came home with some sort of plague from Seattle so I'm not sure what she will be doing for Math this week. Even if Chris isn't up to it, I should be able to continue her lessons in Right Start Math until he's well.

For History we will continue our study of ancient Egypt. We are working on a fact folder right now. We need to delve a bit more into the details of writing, religion, etc but for now she is getting the basics and can identify Egypt on a map which is more than most high school kids around here can do.

We'll pull a few Science experiments from our Robert Krampf folder for science this week and of course there will be plenty of art, drawing, painting, computer time, etc.

Sounds like a busy week for us. How about you?
