Another Ratty Loss

This is the downside to owning rats. They have a very short lifespan. Jazzy's 3rd rat, Nero, passed away last night after a massive stroke. She was very ill for the last two days and spent yesterday on the couch with us, wrapped in a piece of fleece. We made her as comfortable as we could and Jazz talked with her and stroked her fur throughout the day.

Jazz has one rat left (Brutus) and we have no plans at this point in time to get new rats. Although we love them and feel that they are incredible pets for children, frankly I can't stand the heartbreak of losing them.
