A Busy Birthday
Jazzy wasn't feeling very well when she woke up for her party on Saturday. Nothing hurt, no fever, just general yuckiness. We went ahead with her birthday pool party (although I did consider calling it off). She spent most of the time sitting in either my lap or Chris' lap. She was very happy that her friend were there, and loved watching everyone play. Poor thing felt so puny that she didn't even mind just sitting and watching.
The party was a great success despite the fact that we have too much leftover food. :) We have wonderful friends, and I'm so thankful that many of them have been with us to share all (or almost all) of Lady J's birthdays with us. We are very blessed.
After the pool party we cleaned up and headed to Woodstock for my cousin's baby shower. There was too much food and lots of great people there as well. We all visited, played some games and ate more food. The kids received such fantastic gifts for the new baby. Stroller, two carseats, two bouncy seats, a swing, a pack n' play and various other necessities. They have wonderful friends as well.
Jazz still wasn't feeling all that great when we headed over there and actually fell asleep in the car, which she *never* does. We woke her up when we got there and after snuggling on the couch for a bit her cousin's little brother showed up and so she had a crush to play with and she perked up for a while. By 9:30 she was back to snuggling on my lap and we left by 10. She fell asleep in the car on the way home, again something that she *never* does. I think a lot of this is the very busy month finally catching up with her. Chris carried her upstairs and she crashed out in our bed.
Sunday was spent relaxing, playing with new toys and putting others away, doing lots of crafts, starting some new puzzles and general fun. Not to mention learning to rollerblade.
